A benchtop dragee, also known as a mini drageer, is a smaller piece of equipment compared to industrial drageers and is designed to be used in smaller environments, such as domestic kitchens, small bakeries or product development laboratories. The main function of a countertop dragee is to coat products with an even layer of coating, such as chocolate, sugar, flavorings or other ingredients, to enhance the taste and appearance of food or to carry out small-scale tests and experiments.

Here's how a countertop dragee works and what it's for:

What is a countertop dragee used for:

Coating small quantities of products: These mini drageers are suitable for coating small quantities of products, such as almonds, nuts, coffee, dried fruits, among others, with a layer of ingredients such as chocolate or sugar.

Experiments and recipe development: They are often used in home kitchens and small bakeries to test new recipes, develop products, or experiment with coatings and flavors.

Laboratory applications: Food research laboratories and pharmaceutical industries can also use mini drageers to perform small-scale testing and develop product formulations.

How a countertop dragee works:

Loading of products: The products to be coated are loaded into the benchtop dredger. Generally, the capacity of these units is suitable for smaller production runs.

Adding Coating: The desired coating, such as melted chocolate or sugar, is added to the products. This is typically done manually using a distribution system that allows the coating to be applied evenly.

Shaking and rotating: The mini dragee starts to shake and rotate the products, ensuring that the coating is evenly distributed over the surface of the items. Agitation is manual or occurs with the help of a built-in motor, depending on the machine model.

Heating and drying (optional): Some countertop drageers may include a heating system to melt and dry the coating if necessary.

Cooling (optional): After applying the coating, products can be cooled to allow the coating to harden. This process can be done at room temperature or with a built-in cooling system.

Product unloading: After the coating is ready, the coated products are removed from the dragee and can be sent to packaging or consumption.

Countertop drageers are ideal for small productions, culinary experimentation and product development. They allow small entrepreneurs, chefs and researchers to test and improve their recipes before expanding to larger-scale productions.
