Jaw mill
Jaw crushers are equipment widely used in the mining and construction industry to reduce the size of rock materials. They play a crucial role in primary crushing, being responsible for breaking large blocks of rock into smaller particles. Let's cover their usefulness, basic operation and some common types of jaw crushers.

What is it for:

Jaw crushers have the main function of reducing the size of hard and tough materials such as rocks and minerals to make them suitable for subsequent processes such as grinding. They are essential in the production of aggregates for civil construction, in the extraction of minerals and in various industrial operations that involve the breakdown of materials.

How it works:

Material Feeding:

The material to be crushed is fed into the crushing chamber using a vibrating feeder or other similar device.

Crushing:

A movable jaw and a fixed jaw form the crushing chamber.
The movable jaw moves back and forth relative to the fixed jaw, compressing the material against the fixed jaw.
The pressure generated during this crushing movement breaks the rocks into smaller pieces.

Material Discharge:

The crushed material is released from the bottom of the crushing chamber, forming the final product.

Common types of jaw crushers:

Single Shaft Jaw Crusher:

It has a movable jaw and a fixed jaw.
Linear crushing movement.

Two-Shaft Jaw Crusher (Blake type):

It has two jaws, one movable and the other fixed.
The movement of the movable jaw is back and forth.

Two-Shaft Jaw Crusher (Dodge type):

Similar to the Blake type, but the movable jaw has a more complex movement.

Double Effect Jaw Crusher (Overhead Eccentric type):

The movable jaw is suspended from the top and has an elliptical movement.
Offers a larger feeding opening compared to other types.
Universal Jaw Crusher:

It has a movable jaw that can be adjusted for different outlet openings.
Each type of jaw crusher is designed for specific applications, varying in terms of production capacity, maximum feed size and possible adjustments. The choice of type of crusher depends on the characteristics of the material to be crushed and the specific requirements of the process.
